I enjoy school and all the activities that come along with it. Basketball is o.k, but i absolutely love running track. After I graduate I plan on being a very successful young lady!!!! Thanks and go ahead and check out the rest of mine and my team members blogs!!!
Natural Selection: Charles Darwin was a biologist from England and he developed a theory that would imply that all species derived from common ancestors through the process called natural selection. Natural selection is the process by which favorable traits that are in heritable become more common in successive generations of a population of reproducing organisms, and unfavorable traits that are heritable become less common. Natural selection is considered to be the biggest factor resulting in the diversity of species and their genes. It(Natural Selection) is one of the cornerstones of modern biology.

Charles Darwin: Born February 12, 1809 and died April 19 1882. English naturalist Darwin; was the most famous for coming up with the theory of evolution. This theory states that all types of living organisms came from a common ancestor. He states that some organisms are better adapted because of normal differences brought about by changes in the genes also known as mutations. Some differences might make an organism more successful it could have a chance at better survival and could pass on its genes in the future generations to come. Anything that has a lower survival rate will be less likely to be passed on and will sooner or later die off.

Moth Example: An example of evolution resulting selective breeding the "peppered moths were discovered living near England's industrial cites. The insects had different varieties and varied from shades from light to
dark. In the time of the 19th century nasty, dirty, sooty, dark, polluted smoke from coal burning factories with furnaces that killed the lichen off the trees and turned the bark darker. Therefore the dark peppered moths blended in better with the dark trees and didn't get eaten by the birds simply because they weren't visible. So the darker ones lived on and reproduced even more the environment favored dark moths. Once things were cleaned and back to there normal and light colors the light colored moths were in favor to the environment. Researchers say that this study in partially complete; there might have been other factors of natural selection involved.
Finch Example: Darwin's Finches is a good and also well known example of the way genes adapting in order to survive long term to produce their offspring. Darwin came to realize that any population consist of individuals that are slightly different from another. some of those individuals have it well because they have the variation that gives them the advantage of staying alive longer than the others and long enough to successfully reproduce and pass their traits frequently to the next generations. The trait become common and therefore the population evolves. Darwin seen that the size of the beak had to do with the Finches diet based on different foods. In order to survive the birds had to move to different environments where they had to adapt to different conditions. The change was necessary in order for them to eat and reproduce.
